HICOM-Honda Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn Bhd was formed in 1983 as a collaborative effort among HICOM Holdings, Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Boon Siew Sdn Bhd. The partnership aimed to support Malaysia’s industrialization by producing high-quality motorcycle engines and components. Since commencing operations in 1985, the company has been instrumental in supplying Honda motorcycles to both domestic and regional markets.
The manufacturing facility is situated in the Bakar Arang Industrial Estate in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Equipped with advanced technology and adhering to stringent quality control measures, the plant ensures that each engine and component meets Honda’s global standards. Over the years, HICOM-Honda Manufacturing has played a pivotal role in bolstering Malaysia’s automotive sector, providing employment opportunities, and contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
