UNITAR Education Group was established in 1991 as UNITAR College to provide inclusive learning opportunities, develop industry-ready and globally oriented graduates, and foster academic and career success.

UNITAR College was formed to empower aspiring students with access to industry-recognised Certificate, Diploma and SKM programmes, providing them a solid foundation to excel in their educational and professional journeys.

In 1997, UNITAR International University was established as the First Virtual University in Southeast Asia and among the earliest private universities in the country. It is the first institution in Asia to be awarded a QS 5-Star Rating for the Online Learning category.

Building on a legacy of excellence, UNITAR University College Kuala Lumpur (formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC)) was founded in the heart of Kuala Lumpur in 2006. UUCKL offers industry-aligned education from Foundation to Doctorate levels, with a strong focus on ‘Real World Practice’ to prepare students for impactful careers.

In 2016, UNITAR Academy was established as a Professional Development Centre, dedicated to enhancing talent development strategies. By offering rigorous preparation and continuous learning opportunities, the Academy empowers working professionals and cultivates the next generation of leaders.
